一 |     Madhuri Dixit is set to make a comeback to the thriller genre with her new series Mrs Deshpande. It is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. The trailer, unveiled on December 1, 2025, has generated excitement by presenting Madhuri in a strikingly different role. Can you imagine the Dhak Dhak girl in a killer persona? Yes, she is playing an outwardly gentle woman who is, in reality, a convicted serial killer assisting the police in tracking down a copycat.                                              The teaser begins with Madhuri Dixit softly singing Bholi Si Surat before abruptly taking someone’s life. The following scene shows her in prison, remarking, “I’m locked up, so someone else must be imitating my methods.” This moment establishes the central premise of Mrs Deshpande. She plays a seemingly sweet-faced woman, who is hiding a chilling and violent history.Madhuri's Mrs Deshpande is serving a prison sentence of 25 years. However, the police aim to approach her to track down another serial killer. Interestingly, the police, with the help of Mrs Deshpande, understand that the current serial killer is copying all of her techniques. For those unaware, the series is an official remake of the French series La Mante.The twists begin when Mrs Deshpande consents to assist the police in helping with the investigation. However, she sets one condition. She wants to partner with her estranged son, who is now a detective. This leads to a strained collaboration. It pushes the two to face their shared trauma, lingering tensions and secrets that have been hidden for years.The series features Madhuri Dixit-Nene in the central role, with Siddharth Chandekar likely portraying her son and Priyanshu Chatterjee taking on an important supporting character. It is scheduled to be released in JioHotstar on December 19, 2025.     Madhuri was present at the trailer launch for the series.
